Emma specialises in planning and highway law. She has particular experience in negotiating and drafting planning obligations, planning conditions and infrastructure agreements, planning enforcement issues, formulation and implementation of green travel plans, highway closures and diversions and planning conditionality in property contracts and option agreements.
She has advised clients on planning issues associated with residential developments, retail schemes, mixed use schemes, involving residential, retail and hotel uses.
Emma also advises on the formulation and implementation of green travel plans, primarily by car manufacturers. Additionally, she deals with infrastructure matters associated with these developments, involving both highway and water law.
"I joined from the Planning and Environmental Team at Eversheds in Birmingham. As well as advising on planning and infrastructure matters, a high proportion of my work in the past involved advising on associated environmental matters, including the appointment of environmental consultants, contaminated land and implementation of environmental management systems. I also have some experience of waste management issues.
"Many planning lawyers regard planning law as a 'vocation', not simply a job. Being surrounded by enthusiastic people and helping to bring developments to fruition that will shape communities and the environment in which we all live, is hugely exciting. My decision to specialise in planning law and my move here will, I am sure, bring about my involvement in a variety of innovative and important schemes."
