How to play MP3 audio files
What are they?
Uncompressed digital audio files are large. The MP3 format is a method of compressing these large files without losing too much quality, so they can be more easily transferred across the Internet and stored on computers and stand-alone MP3 players.
On your computer
MP3s can be played on your computer using programs like QuickTime, RealOne, WinAmp or Windows Media Player. There are free versions of these players available from their respective websites. You may need to check with your system administrator before installing one of these programmes.
If you have one of the above listed software programmes installed on your computer then clicking the audio file link will start the audio playing. There may be a slight delay as the file downloads to your computer.
Do check that you have a sound card installed and that the volume on your speakers/headphones has been turned up.
On your MP3 player
Right click (Windows) or Control Click (Macintosh) the audio link, to save the audio file on to your computer. You can then copy it to your MP3 player.
