Real Estate & Retail: Bureaucratic burdens removed for landlords and former tenants - sense finally prevails in Raguz
30 October 2008
Sense finally prevails in Raguz – resolution
at last for landlords and former tenants
The House of Lords' decision on 29 October
2008 in Scottish & Newcastle plc v. Raguz removes
"ridiculous" and "silly" bureaucratic burdens for both landlords
and former tenants. It will no longer be necessary for
landlords to serve notices just to keep alive their right to
recover an as yet unreviewed rent or unbalanced service charge.
